Intentions

One of the many invaluable things my teacher in KL tried to stressed on us students was to always have an intention or intentions for our practice. It could be a dedication or a prayer which can be done just before practice starts or after it ends.

The violence that is happening in the Gaza Strip has recently been highlighted in the media. It is distressing to see pictures of victims and the anguish it caused to the families affected. So, how about we all set an intention or prayer for peace to come quickly for these people the next time we practice?

Hi,
you live in Kuala Lumpur right? Is there any Ashtanga Mysore-style practice offered in KL? In march I'm staying almost four weeks in Malaysia, also a few days in KL, and it would be nice to have the chance to go to a Mysore practice there. It would be great if you could recommend something.
Bye, Bettina

Hi Bettina. There are, unfortunately, no dedicated ashtanga studio in Kuala Lumpur. The studio I go to (www.manasa-yoga.com) offers ashtanga classes on Fridays and Sundays.

There is, however, a group of ashtangis who practise every morning at an aerobics room at the Westin hotel. I sometimes join them. You can reach me at earnchin(at)gmail (dot)com, should you need more details.

"Selamat datang di Malaysia" in advance. It means "welcome to Malaysia"!

Thankyou for the information. What you wrote about this group of Ashtangis sounds interesting. Perhaps I'll get back to you if the time has come.
I'm really looking forward to this trip!
